Elias Harger 2
Elias Harger stars as Max in “Fuller House” Season 3, episode 3. Mike Yarish/Netflix

Netflix’s “Full House” spinoff, “Fuller House,” is filled with comedy, drama, love and random fun facts.

Sometimes, if you pay attention to the show close enough, you can see the titles of real books that characters are reading or artists they are mentioning, and other times, like in the most recent episode, the finale of Season 3A, you can see a character’s entire passport and learn a lot about them.

In this instance, Max (Elias Harger), the middle son of D.J. (Candace Cameron Bure), showed off his passport as he was packing for the Japan trip, giving fans a close-up of not just his crazy photo, but also all of his information, including his birthday.

That’s how we now know that Max was born on Oct. 22, 2007, which also happens to be the birthday of the actor who plays him, Harger.

Turning 10 is a big deal for both Max and Harger, so when International Business Times caught up with the actor to find out about the next half of Season 3, we asked him how he plans to celebrate, and how he thinks his character would ring in the big day.

While Harger is keeping it fun and casual with a “dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe,” he thinks his character would celebrate a bit differently.

“He would probably throw a fundraiser, knowing Max,” Harger told IBT. “And try to tell Taylor (Lucs Jaye) how much money he got from the fundraiser, and always trying to impress Rose (McKenna Grace), too. And Rose will probably be his guest of honor. And he’ll be doing it to support the Earth.”

Different ways of enjoying birthdays is only one of the ways Harger is different from his character, but there are a few others, as well.

“I am not very tidy and buttoned-up or always in a suit. I am more T-shirt and sneakers,” Harger told IBT. “Max is always pants and buttoned-up and cleaning and good grades and schoolwork. And I’m not saying I don’t get good grades, I do get good grades, but I’m not as enthusiastic about school.”

Not having much in common with his character just goes to show how much he really enjoys the acting of it all, something he didn’t always know he wanted to do. After getting his first job, he started to love the world of acting and only continues to enjoy it even more now since he “got really lucky” with the “Fuller House” cast.

“Everybody has a really great attitude when it comes to working and everybody’s very nice and welcoming,” the now 10-year-old actor said. “I feel like the three girls had started a family in ‘Full House’ and instead of treating us like the outsiders, they invited us into the family.”

Not only do they “have a lot of fun on set, every season” and are always joking around, but they also hang out outside of work, especially when they’re commemorating new episodes being released.

“We went to [writer/producer] Jeff Franklin’s house and down in his basement, where his game room is, he has a little theater and so we all went down there and watched on Netflix,” Harger said of what the cast did when the first part of Season 3 came out. “And we ate popcorn and ice cream and we had dinner there. It was a really fun feeling.”

Hopefully the cast does something just as fun for when the second half of the season premieres, and, with any luck, they’ll share photos of the occasion on social media for all the fans to see.

Speaking of Season 3B, Harger had a little bit to share about what fans can expect to see when the sitcom returns with new episodes. The first episode out of the gate will follow the characters in Japan, and happens to be Harger’s favorite episode of the new bunch.

But once the crew lands in this new country and there are real decisions to be made, will D.J. end up choosing Steve (Scott Weinger) or Matt (John Brotherton)? While Harger can’t say what will come of that love triangle, he does know which team he chooses.

“I’m Team Statt,” he said. “And where I got that idea is a fan of ours had a T-shirt on that said ‘Team Statt’ and it had a picture of Matt and Steve standing next to each other. I decided Team Statt, too, because I cannot choose between the two men. They are both really nice people, in real life, and they both have really amazing characters.”

Both characters being so amazing is definitely one of the reasons why D.J. has been having so much trouble making a decision in the first place. While it will be interesting to see what comes of the cliffhanger at the end of the Season 3A, it likely won’t be an easy resolution for any of the characters involved.

“Things go crazy,” Harger said of what to expect in the new episodes. “Nothing goes as planned. And a lot of questions will be answered, but then again, a lot will be raised.”

Fans will also be happy to hear that there will be “more of a storyline between Max and Rose” when Season 3B premieres.

Be on the lookout for when the next half of “Fuller House” Season 3 premieres on Netflix, which will likely be by the end of this year.
