Game of Thrones
Myrcella Baratheon (Nell Tiger Free) will become a major character in "Game of Thrones" Season 5. HBO

"Game of Thrones" Season 5, episode 3, "High Sparrow," continued the trend of interesting departures from George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. The next episode, "The Sons of the Harpy," was the last one made available in advance, which means pirates and reviewers will be entering unknown territory starting with episode 5. The synopsis for "Game of Thrones" Season 5, episodes 4-8, has been released and reveals some tantalizing -- albeit brief -- clues about what's in store for Westeros and Essos.

Warning: "Game of Thrones" Season 5 spoilers ahead.

Viewers already got a taste of what to expect from "The Sons of the Harpy" with the preview released on Sunday. The Sand Snakes will make their debut while the Sparrows get a bit aggressive. The episode's title comes from the group that opposes Daenerys in Meereen. Jaime Lannister was missing from "High Sparrow," but we knew he was heading to Dorne and recruited Bronn for the rescue mission. "The Faith Militant grow increasingly aggressive. Jaime [Nikolaj Coster-Waldau] and Bronn [Jerome Flynn] head south. Ellaria [Indira Varma] and the Sand Snakes vow vengeance," reads the episode 4 synopsis.

After that, viewers enter unfamiliar territory. "Dany [Emilia Clarke] makes a difficult decision in Meereen. Jon [Kit Harington] recruits the help of an unexpected ally. Brienne [Gwendoline Christie] searches for Sansa [Sophie Turner]. Theon [Alfie Allen] remains under Ramsay’s (Iwan Rheon) control," reads the synopsis for episode 5, "Kill the Boy." Daenerys has already had to make a difficult decision in executing one of her own, but it looks like the Sons of the Harpy may force her hand on another matter. Could she open the fighting pits to quell tension in Meereen? As for Jon, an unexpected ally could be Alliser Thorne, Melisandre, Tormund or someone else at Castle Black. Theon/Reek is at Moat Cailin as is Sansa Stark, and the two will meet later on in Season 5.

"Arya [Maisie Williams] trains. Jorah [Iain Glen] and Tyrion [Peter Dinklage] run into slavers. Trystane [Toby Sebastian] and Myrcella (Nell Tiger Free) make plans. Jaime and Bronn reach their destination. The Sand Snakes attack," reads the synopsis for episode 6, "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken." The title comes from the House Martell motto, so Dorne will be featured prominently in this episode. It looks like the storylines for Arya, Jorah and Tyrion will follow a path like the one laid out in Martin's novels.

The synopsis for "Game of Thrones" Season 5, episode 7, "The Gift," does not mind sharing a few concrete details about some interesting encounters. "Jon prepares for conflict. Sansa tries to talk to Theon. Brienne waits for a sign. Stannis [Stephen Dillane] remains stubborn. Jaime attempts to reconnect with family," reads the summary. Jon's conflict could involve Stannis' army marching to meet the Boltons or perhaps one closer to home with the Wildlings and the Night's Watch. The title could refer to death administered by the Faceless Men, so there could be more Arya in this episode.

While we can figure out what "The Gift" will be, that's less true for "Hardhome." "Arya makes progress in her training. Sansa confronts an old friend. Cersei [Lena Headey] struggles. Jon travels," is the tidy synopsis for "Game of Thrones" Season 5, episode 8. Hardhome is an abandoned Wildling outpost and there are more Free Folk Beyond the Wall. Sansa could confront Reek, which could have some interesting ramifications regarding her wedding with Ramsay.
