FC Barcelona duo Gavi and Dani Alves set an incredible stat by scoring in FC Barcelona's 4-2 win over Atletico Madrid on Sunday.

With the victory, Barcelona climbed to No. 4 in the 2021-22 La Liga table and pushed the Madrid side down to fifth.

Barcelona defender Jordi Alba opened the scoring for the Camp Nou side just 10 minutes after the kick-off. Gavi doubled Barcelona's lead with his 21st-minute strike. Just before the half-time break, center-back Ronald Araujo made it 3-0 for the Catalans.

Veteran defender Alves, who is into his second stint at Barcelona, netted his side's fourth goal in the 49th minute.

It was a special moment for Barcelona when Gavi, 17, and Alves, 38, scored in the same match Sunday. When Gavi was born in the Province of Seville in August 2004, Alves had already played 46 matches for Sevilla, Soccer Journalist Tim Lee tweeted.

Alves, who started his senior career with Brazilian club Bahia in 2001, moved on loan to Sevilla during the 2002-03 campaign before the La Liga side made the move permanent.

The Brazil national made 250 competitive appearances for Sevilla, helping them win four trophies, two UEFA Cups and a UEFA Super Cup.

In the summer of 2008, Alves bid a tearful goodbye to Sevilla and joined Barcelona, where he would go on to become a legend. Alves spent eight seasons at Barcelona and won everything that was on offer with the Camp Nou side, including six La Liga trophies and three Champions League titles.

The Brazilian defender left Barcelona at the end of the 2015-16 campaign and joined Juventus. From there, he moved to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Sao Paulo before making a sensational return to Barcelona ahead of January 2022.

Meanwhile, Gavi, who rose through the ranks of Barcelona's youth setup, made his debut with the senior side earlier this season. The teenage sensation has netted two goals and has provided three assists in 27 appearances for Barcelona in the 2021-22 campaign.

Barcelona's next match is an away league game against Espanyol before they host Napoli in their Round of 16 fixture in the Europa League.
