"General Hospital" alum Steve Burton has filed for divorce from his estranged wife Sheree Burton, two months after alleging she is pregnant with another man’s child.

A rep for the 52-year-old actor, who has been married to Sheree for 23 years, confirmed the divorce filing in a statement to People Monday.

In court documents obtained by TMZ, the "Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem" star cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split and listed March 1 as their official date of separation.

Steve shocked fans back in May when he took to Instagram to officially announce his separation from the 47-year-old fitness instructor.

"I wanted to clear something up," he wrote in an Instagram Story, adding, "Sheree and I are separated."

"She recently announced that she's expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine," he claimed. "We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids. We would appreciate privacy at this time. Much love, Steve."

Steve made the split announcement shortly after Sheree revealed in a since-deleted Instagram Story that she's expecting her fourth baby. She posted a photo of her side profile holding her baby bump.

"Life sure is full of surprises!" she wrote.

Sheree has yet to comment on who the father of her fourth child is. However, she shared a cryptic message via Instagram in January about mistakes, which some fans speculated may be in reference to her marriage.

"If you could go back, what would you tell your younger self? I would have said... Follow your passions," she wrote alongside a photo of herself. "People will hurt you, but always be kind and take the high road... Don’t be afraid to fail or try new things... Learn from your mistakes because you will make mistakes... it’s OK!"

Steve and Sheree wed in 1999 after meeting on the set of "General Hospital." They share daughters Makena, 18, and Brooklyn, 7, as well as son Jack, 16.

The actor was fired from "General Hospital" in November 2021 for not following the show's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. He confirmed his exit from the series in an Instagram video at the time.

"I wanted you to hear it from me personally," he said. "Unfortunately, 'General Hospital' has let me go because of the vaccine mandate."

Steve told fans at the time that no one should lose their livelihood because of the vaccine mandate but added that he will "always be grateful" for his time at the show.

Steve currently stars in Season 2 of Peacock's "Days of Our Lives" spinoff, "Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem." He reprised his former "Days of Our Lives" role of Harris Michaels, which he first began portraying in 1988.

New episodes of "Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem" drop daily until Friday.
