KEY POINTS

  • Kaboomball Kombat is coming up next in "Genshin Impact's" lineup of events
  • Never-Ending Battle will be the last event in this patch
  • The Inazuma update might be released shortly after the Golden Apple Archipelago is removed from the game

“Genshin Impact” patch 1.6 is nearing the end of its lifespan, but there are at least two more events that players can expect, giving fans more opportunities to gain some extra Primogems and resources before the next big update goes live.

There are two events from the previous “Genshin Impact” patch 1.6 devstream that have not gone live yet, but miHoYo recently revealed that the Kaboomball Kombat event will soon be coming right after the ongoing Legend of the Vagabond Sword event concludes.

The Kaboomball Kombat event is similar to the pong-type minigames scattered around the Golden Apple Archipelago, but instead of destroying boarded posts, players will be targeting new Dodofortresses that will appear on the islands once the event goes live.

The goal is to defeat as many Dodofortresses as possible before the time limit expires to earn points.

Completing these challenges will reward “Genshin Impact” players with Enigma Gears and Enigma Cores, new event-specific currencies used to purchase prizes from the event shop. Rewards include Primogems, Character EXP Materials, Mora and a new event namecard.

Kaboomball Kombat will run from July 2 to 12 and it’s expected to be replaced by the Never-Ending Battle, a combat-focused event against normal mob enemies from the open world. This new event is expected to run for most of July’s second half.

These are the last two events planned for patch 1.6, and now that the prequel for the Inazuma chapter is available, the time to visit the isolated island nation might be coming soon.

According to the in-game timer, the Golden Apple Archipelago will only be available until July 20, after which all of the resources found in the region will no longer be obtainable.

It’s very likely that a new map region will be added to the game soon after the archipelago is removed as otherwise players will not be able to farm for the necessary ascension materials for Kazuha. It’s also possible that the Maguu Kenki boss and the Sea Ganoderma plants may get moved to other locations in the existing Teyvat region, but considering the current progress of the main storyline, the former theory is more plausible.
