KEY POINTS

  • The event challenge version of the Maguu Kenki behaves differently from the original one
  • Ranged attacks will work against the Dual Maguu Kenki in the event challenge
  • Using the right difficulty flairs is essential to succeeding in boss fights

The new Maguu Kenki boss in “Genshin Impact” can be a troublesome enemy to beat and fighting two of them at once can be an even more difficult challenge to surpass. Players who want to unlock every reward in the Legend of the Vagabond Sword event will have to do more than just brute-force their way through this boss fight.

The double samurai challenge is a little different from the world version of the Maguu Kenki. Each samurai moves and attacks independently of each other and they’re moves are slightly different from the original boss found in the archipelago. However, they also have a few caveats that make them easier to beat.

Here are some useful tips and tricks on how to beat the Dual Maguu Kenki challenge in “Genshin Impact.”

Use Ranged And AoE Attacks

Unlike the world boss version, the samurais in the event challenge are unable to parry ranged attacks. Players with fully-built ranged DPS characters like Ganyu, Ningguang or Yanfei can make very short work of this boss fight, especially with a high-investment Ganyu.

Area-of-effect attacks are particularly good in this challenge as long as players are able to keep both samurai close to each other. Beidou’s Elemental Burst can deal tremendous damage to both bosses while giving players the opportunity to use other elemental reactions for even more damage.

Avoid These Flairs

Adding additional difficulty modifiers is great for maxing out score generation but some flairs in the Dual Maguu Kenki boss fight are simply not worth activating.

The Cryo Field modifier will continuously sap away HP from on-field characters, making the boss fight much riskier on Expert difficulty. This will also force players to use a healer character like Qiqi or Jean, and this can potentially slow down their performance.

Activating flairs that increase enemy HP or shorten the fight timer is also not recommended unless players are very confident in their team compositions.

Pick Flairs Wisely

Flairs should be activated according to the player’s preferred party compositions and decisions should be made accordingly. Increasing the boss’ resistance to Anemo and Geo will always be worth doing as long as there are no Geo or Anemo characters in the party.

Likewise, flairs that reduce healing effectiveness or increase enemy damage should be turned on if players have no healers or have strong shielders.
