“Glee” creators Ryan Murphy, Ian Brennan, and Brad Falchuk announced that they are establishing a “college fund” for Naya Rivera’s son, Josey Hollis Dorsey after the actress’ body was recovered from Lake Piru on Monday.

The trio recently penned an endearing tribute to the late actress and revealed that they are in the process of creating a “college fund” for Rivera’s 4-year-old son. They also extended their condolences to Rivera's family and loved ones.

The show makers noted in the tribute they shared via the Hollywood Reporter that Rivera was “kind” and “generous.” According to them, the 33-year-old Hollywood star was more than just an actor on the show.

"She was warm and caring and fiercely protective of the rest of the cast. She was tough and demanding. She was fun. She was kind. She was generous. Naya was more than just an actor on our show- she was our friend. Our hearts go out to her family, especially her mom, Yolanda, who was a big part of the ‘Glee’ family and her son Josey. The three of us are currently in the process of creating a college fund for the beautiful son Naya loved most of all,” they wrote.

They also explained how amazing it was to work with such a hard-working and talented person. The show creators admitted that they were devastated and “heartbroken” after hearing the news of Rivera’s untimely passing.

Murphy, Brennan and Falchuk also revealed that the actress only had a “few lines” to say in the pilot episode of the hit TV series. However, they were more than enough to make them realize how talented she really was. They even praised Rivera’s acting prowess and said that she could enthrall the viewers with an emotional scene as well as make them laugh with a hilarious joke.

“Naya wasn’t a series regular when we cast her on ‘Glee.’ She didn’t have more than a few lines in the pilot. But it didn’t take more than an episode or two for us to realize that we had lucked into finding one of the most talented, special stars we would ever have the pleasure of working with. Naya could act, she could dance, and she could sing (could she ever sing!) She could nail a joke as well as she could crush you with an emotional scene,” the show creators added.

Rivera went missing after a boat ride on July 8. According to the authorities, she saved her son by pushing him onto the vessel but unfortunately could not save herself. She was 33.
