  • Google shared a photo set to showcase the HDR+ with Bracketing on Pixel phones
  • Two of the photos caught readers' attention
  • One of them indicated that it was taken using the Google Pixel 5a
  • The other one, which wasn't labeled, might have also been taken using Pixel 5a

Google has accidentally published a photo that was taken using the upcoming Pixel 5a. The leaked photo hints that the next addition to the Pixel family could come with two rear cameras.

In a Google AI Blog post published on April 23, Google uploaded a set of photos to demonstrate the HDR+ with Bracketing feature on Pixel phones. Two photos in the set captured the readers' attention.

The EXIF data of one of the photos indicated that it was taken using Google Pixel 5a. It was a photo of a movie theater in Taiwan, which was not surprising at all since it's where Pixel phones are being developed.

Meanwhile, the other photo that caught people's attention did not indicate the model of the device that was used to capture it.

Although only one of the two images had the Google Pixel 5a label, rumors suggested that the other one with the same photo quality might have been taken using the same device, reported 9 to 5 Google.

The two photos were later taken down at the same time. The timing of their deletion added substance to the speculations that the second photo had been taken using the Google Pixel 5a or another Google device in the works, Toms Guide said in a report.

The standout quality of both deleted photos sparked the rumor that Google could use two rear cameras for the Pixel 5a. If proven true, it may mean that the tech giant is finally veering away from its philosophy that one camera is good enough for the Pixel a-series phones.

On April 9, Google officially announced that the Google Pixel 5a will come in the latter part of 2021. The announcement put an end to speculations that the latest addition to the Pixel family could be canceled due to the shortage of chip supply.

Previous reports revealed that the Google Pixel 5a will be powered by the Snapdragon 765G. The new iteration will also come with an almost similar design to that of its predecessor, except for the slight difference in height and thickness.
