At a time when the purported official announcement date of Sept. 29 for the Google Nexus 2015 smartphones is only few weeks away, fresh information on the release date and pricing of the LG Nexus 5 (2015) and the Huawei Nexus 6 (2015) have surfaced.

According to Talk Android, an unnamed source has revealed that Google will begin taking preorders of the next generation Nexus flagships on Oct. 13, exactly two week after the official announcement on Sept. 29. Although the source did not mention the shipping date, Google is known to ship new Nexus devices one to three weeks after the official announcement.

Android PIT has published fresh images of the LG Nexus 5 (2015) with one of the images showing the backside of the handset with the circular fingerprint sensor at the top. The raised 13-megapixel OIS camera can be seen below, while the dual-LED flash and the laser autofocus feature are on its left.

Another image from the publication showcases one of the sides of the handset, which reveals that the power and volume rocker buttons are on the same side. The source also revealed that the LG Nexus 5 (2015) may not feature a metallic frame along its edges.

The LG Nexus 5 (2015) is speculated to release with LG Nexus 5X moniker, and is likely to be coming with inbuilt storage options of 16 GB and 32 GB, Android Authority reported. The 16 GB model is expected to carry a price tag of $399 whereas the 32 GB model is likely to be available for $449.

CNET had recent reported that Google is preparing for a launch event that will be held in San Francisco on Sept. 29. The LG and Huawei variants of the 2015 Nexus smartphones are heavily speculated to be unveiled on that day.
