The Google Nexus 6P, the successor for Google Nexus 6 by Motorola was launched last year. The Nexus 6P smartphone is manufactured by Huawei. The Chinese smartphone maker has also introduced a high-end smartphone, the Huawei Mate 8 that boasts premium design and topnotch specs.

Dimensions and Display

Both the smartphones come with full-metal design. The Nexus 6P dimensions are 159.3 x 77.8 x 7.3 mm and its build is made of anodized aluminum. It weighs 178 grams and comes in multiple color options such as aluminum, graphite and frost.

The Huawei Mate 8 weighs 185 grams and its body is built with aerospace-grade aluminum. Its dimension is 157.1 x 80.6 x 7.9 mm and is available in color variants such as silver, gray, brown and gold.

The Google Nexus 6P is fitted with a Quad HD resolution supporting 5.7-inch AMOLED screen that offers a pixel count of 518 ppi. The Huawei Mate features a larger 6-inch IPS-NEO LCD full HD display that offers a pixel count of 368 ppi.

Chipset, Storage and RAM

The Google Nexus 6P is powered by Snapdragon 810 chipset that features an octa-core processor and 3 GB of RAM. It lacks a microSD expansion slot but comes in four native storage option such as 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB.

The HiSilicon Kirin 950 SoC built by Huawei is present under the hood of Mate 8. The 32 GB and 64 GB variants come with respective RAMs of 3 GB and 4 GB. The external storage slot supports up to 128 GB of microSD on its second SIM slot.

Camera and Software

There Google Nexus 6P features a dual-LED enabled 12.3-megapixel rear camera whereas the Huawei Mate 8 houses a 16-megpaixel rear camera that is enabled with optical image stabilization and dual LED flash.

Both Nexus 6P and Huawei Mate 8 have 8-megapixel selfie shooters. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS comes preinstalled on both phones. However, the Android OS on Huawei Mate 8 is overlaid with Emotion 4.0 UI.

Connectivity, Battery and Price

Both smartphones feature Cat. 4G LTE modem, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, aGPS and Bluetooth v4.2 and fingerprint sensors. The Nexus 6P has a USB Type-C port, a feature that is absent on Huawei Mate 8.

Both Nexus 6P and Mate 8 support fast charging. The former features a 3450 mAh battery whereas the latter comes with a 4000 mAh battery.

The 32 GB Nexus 6P is priced at $499, the 64 GB model is available for $549 and 128 GB variant is priced at $649. The 32 GB Huawei Mate 8 whereas its 64 GB edition is priced at 599 euros ($651) and 699 euros ($760), GSM Arena reported.
