  • Michael Jordan revolutionalized the level of play in the NBA
  • Tom Brady proves he can win a Super Bowl title under any coach
  • The Jordan-Brady comparison has surfaced after the latter steered the Buccs to an NFL championship

Tom Brady is back on top after a brief stumble in the NFL last year.

The fact that he won his seventh Super Bowl title cements him as one of the greatest to ever grace the football field. However, pundits are now taking it to another level, comparing him with NBA icon Michael Jordan.

Most know that basketball is a lot different from football in a lot of ways. So would it matter to figure out who between Brady and Jordan is the greatest? Here are some things worth considering.

As far as Brady is concerned, he holds an edge in the number of titles in a pro league compared to Jordan. But there are glaring differences in how the career of both went.

For one, most know that Brady had a lot of success with the New England Patriots. Considering he is over his 40s, most were expecting him as winding down his career.

Under a new team in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady once again felt feel the soil of the Promised Land with the soles of his feet. If his Super Bowl LV performance is any indication, he is planning to win one more next NFL season.

Jordan, on the other hand, won all his titles with one team. He garnered success only under one coach, Phil Jackson. He could have won another, an obvious intent with the Washington Wizards from 2001 to 2003.

But at that point, it was an era where Jordan needed proper backup to win another NBA title. In short, he had no Scottie Pippen by his side.

By comparison, this is something that Brady holds over Jordan. He played for two different sideline shot-callers such as Bill Belichick and Bruce Arian, and managed to win a Super Bowl title. Could this be a point of contention?

Also worth noting is that Jordan retired at the age of 40. Brady is still going strong at 43. and there is no telling if he does plan to play until he is 48.

From these facts alone, it appears Brady holds a definite edge over Jordan. However, "His Airness" did do something that Brady has not yet done--change the game.

The Jordan-led Bulls became a model for most teams, a reason why most have wisely brought together different talent. He had a tough time facing NBA teams who changed their philosophy.

In some say, the NFL is different compared to the NBA. But as far as influence, Jordan is undeniably the one who made an impact, an explanation why teams are now paying closer attention to that winning formula.

This may not be acceptable to most, but it all boils down to the impact one has on his sport. Brady and Jordan may not care since both have already proven that they are legends in their own rights.
