  • Robert Kraft is rooting for Brady at Super Bowl 55
  • Brady is making big strides at 43 years old

Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has had a couple of colorful years with two big personalities playing a role in his NFL career.

They are NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and New England Patriots Robert Kraft, individuals who did not exactly have a flowing relationship with the 43-year-old quarterback.

For those who have been following Brady’s career, Goodell and Kraft had a somewhat tainted history.

As far as Goodell, most will recall that celebrated “Deflategate” issue in 2014 that involved the Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts.

Recall that it was the NFL commissioner who imposed a four-game suspension on the three-time NFL MVP at the time.

Brady denied any wrongdoing and even fought through it to the US Federal Court. The six-time Super Bowl champion eventually gave up and accepted the suspension.

Ironically, Brady led the Pats to the Super Bowl title that year. Things got a bit awkward when Goodell had to personally hand Brady the MVP trophy.

Now, it appears all that is a thing of the past. Goodell admits that Brady is probably one of the greatest NFL players to play the game and wishes him well.

"So for me, I wish him well. I think he's gonna continue to be a great performer. I'm glad to hear he's going to play a few more years," Goodell said at the Super Bowl 55 media event in a report from TMZ.

As for Kraft, most know that things went sour when Brady opted to take his act to the Buccs. That left the Patriots in dire straits, forcing them to look for someone to succeed the four-time Super Bowl MVP.

Cam Newton eventually took his place, but things just did not work out.

Brady proved he was far from done despite his age. He is part of the reason why Tampa Bay is in the Super Bowl once more.

Kraft seems to acknowledge that, revealing he was rooting for his former star quarterback when he spoke to WBZ-TV (H/T TMZ).

"I’m rooting for Tom Brady,” the 79-year-old Patriots owner said. “I’m so excited. We’ve had some great communications and he is such a special human being."

Kraft’s comments come not long after Brady praised the Patriots and said that he still had a lot of love for Boston and all of New England, USA Today reported.

“I have a lot of love for Boston and all of New England. Incredible support over the years. It was an amazing two decades of my life,” Brady stated.
