Jo Wilson is going to face lots of drama in “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14. After revealing her abusive marriage and not letting DeLuca tell her how he feels, it’s safe to say that the Grey Sloan doctor has some issues to work out. Actress Camilla Luddington dished about her character dealing with her past and what might happen in Jo’s love life.

“We will absolutely explore Jo’s story more,” Camilla Luddington told TVLine. “I know that with the domestic violence storyline, we want to show the spectrum of emotional damage that can do to someone — what their triggers may be, how it affects past and future relationships, the details of what she experienced — and hopefully show recovery and healing. It will be very intense to play but I feel honored to be given the opportunity to tackle something so complex.”

It seems ignoring her abusive ex-husband Paul (Matthew Morrison) might not be how she heals. Paul is set to return to “Grey’s Anatomy” sometime in Season 14. Morrison told the Argonaut that he has a “big role” on the ABC drama this year.

However, Luddington revealed to TV Guide that she has yet to see Paul in any scripts from early Season 14. “It’s definitely a storyline that I hope we explore, because it’s so important. But right now, it’s [DeLuca] and Alex,” she teased.

DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) developed some serious feelings for Jo last year, but Alex (Justin Chambers) still isn’t over his ex. He even went to go see Paul last season, and that likely won’t sit well with Jo. “When Jo finds out that Alex did that, I don’t know what her reaction’s going to be,” Luddington added. “I feel like it could go either way. They’re in a really interesting time in their relationship, and it’s very tricky. ... Do I think that it could push them even further away from each other? It’s definitely possible.”

However, she also noted that Jo might have some feelings for DeLuca in “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14. “This season’s going to be very sexy. ... I can imagine [Jo] maybe feeling a little bit jealous if DeLuca started dating someone else,” Luddington hinted to TV Guide.

Still, don’t expect a DeLuca-Jo romance right away. It looks like Jo needs to work on coming to terms with her past before she can move forward with her future. “I think she’s at a time in her life right now where she has to deal with her own emotional journey and what she’s going through in her past ... before she really jumps straight into a relationship with someone else,” the actress concluded.

DeLuca will have another women occupying his time anyway. His sister Carina (Stefania Spampinato) will arrive at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital as a new doctor in “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14, and it’s not exactly a happy reunion for DeLuca. Gianniotti told Entertainment Weekly that she’ll make him “uncomfortable,” and the show will also explore their Italian roots.

“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 will premiere on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC with a two-hour episode.
