An heiress on trial for murder may have given herself away by her reaction to news of her husband's death, according to testimony from a witness for the prosecution.

Last month, the murder trial of millionaire heiress Tiffany Li began in Redwood City, California. Li, along with her boyfriend Kaveh Bayat, are accused of murdering the father of her children, Keith Green, on April 28, 2016. According to prosecutors, the heiress lured Green to her Hillsborough home, which is where he was shot. His body was eventually recovered 90 miles north of the alleged murder scene.

On Wednesday, San Mateo County Sheriff's Sgt. John Carroll, who was the lead investigator in the homicide case, testified that Li was "emotionless" when she was given Green's death certificate and informed that he had been killed.

The law enforcement official also stated that when he visited the heiress' mansion on May 17, 2016 to tell her that the body had been positively identified, she did not exhibit expected behavior. According to Carroll, Li never inquired about how Green died. Additionally, she did not illustrate visible concern about how she was going to tell their two young children about the passing of their father.

"She was not upset at all?" San Mateo County prosecutor Bryan Abanto asked the official, to which Carroll replied, "No."

Carroll, who oversaw every major step of the murder investigation beginning on April 26, 2016, was additionally pressed by Abanto about statements Li had made prior to her arrest. Among those, the heiress named several people who she felt could have been upset with Green, including two men he used to go clubbing with, a guy who attended his high school, a motorcycle gang he allegedly owed money to, and a husband who had become aware that he had been having an affair with his wife.

"Li gave me different theories about who was upset with Mr. Green," Carroll stated.

According to ABC News 7, the trial is moving ahead of schedule. While the prosecution has since rested, defense attorneys for Li stated that they intend on presenting most of their witnesses within the next two weeks. The court is in recess until Tuesday.
