Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's marriage headed south when he failed to be there for her, a report says.

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star used to praise her husband for "standing up for me." However, an unnamed insider has revealed to E! News that their marriage started to break down when West stopped standing by Kardashian and only focused on work.

"He is focused solely on creating right now and is very extreme about it," the source told the outlet. "He will spend hours on hours creating new music, editing or creating pieces for his line, and doesn't give himself breaks."

One "close" source said that the KKW Beauty founder has been having a difficult time juggling her work and the care of their four children, North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 2, and 19-month-old Psalm. On top of these, Kardashian is also studying for the bar exam.

"2020 was hard being home with the kids at all times," the insider told E! News. "Having four kids is chaotic and crazy. Kim was exhausted and spent. It was a stressful situation, she was studying for the bar and dealing with so much."

According to the source, West would sometimes take time out of his busy schedule to see their children and join the family on some occasions, including Kardashian's tropical birthday trip in October and their family vacation to the Dominican Republic in December. However, the two been living separate lives most of the time, the source added.

"They have different lifestyles," the insider said, adding, "and that's been made very clear."

Meanwhile, West was allegedly jealous of the amount of time Kardashian spent on their kids and her other priorities, including prison reform, a source said. They reportedly also couldn't agree on where to settle down.

"Kanye is jealous of the amount of time Kim has dedicated to prison reform and the kids," the source told Us Weekly. "Kanye wanted the family to move to Wyoming full-time. It’s where he sees this direction of his life going. Kim just doesn’t see their lives full-time in Wyoming."

Reports claimed earlier this week that West and Kardashian have now begun divorce proceedings, but a source told E! News that they are still "trying to work through things" in marriage counseling.

According to the insider, though West and Kardashian have "discussed" divorce, the latter "wants more than anything for their relationship to work."
