NEW:
Casey Anthony will be RELEASED from Jail on July 13

Although the way 2-yearold Caylee Anthony died almost three years ago is still far from being known, one thing for certain is that the claims based on evidence made by the prosecuting team portray charged primary suspect Casey Anthony's behavior as abnormal.

Previously, the mother had stated that a baby sitter had kidnapped Caylee but in the opening statement made today, Tuesday, May 24, the defense had switched to state that the little girl had died due to accidental drowning 'when no one was looking' according to the Associated Press.

Normally if your son or daughter went missing for more than 48 hours you would immediately report it to the police. Casey Anthony however, waited one entire month before reporting to anyone that her daughter was missing. In the end, it was Cindy Anthony, Caylee's grandmother, that reported to local authorities about the missing toddler.

Prosecutor Linda Drane Burdick informed during the trial that during the month Caylee went missing, Casey had gone shopping, had been with friends and boy friend. The team suggested that Caylee had died by asphyxiation caused by duct tape covering her nasal and oral openings.

Although an autopsy was performed on Caylee's body, no clear conclusions were able to be obtained as for the cause of her death.

Casey could be sentenced to death if convicted for this 1st-degree murder.
