How Did ‘General’ Lee Holman Die? Former Harlem Globetrotter Dies On Christmas

Sad news: Former Harlem Globetrotter "General" Lee Holman died Friday, local South Carolina news station WIS-TV reported Tuesday. He was 61.

No cause of death for Holman was given. His wife shared the news with WIS-TV Tuesday. The couple were natives of Columbia, South Carolina.

He is the second former member of the Harlem Globetrotters to die in recent days. Meadowlark Lemon died Sunday at age 83 in Scottsdale, Arizona, the news station noted.

A public service for Holman will be held at Bostick-Thompkins Funeral Home on Colonial Drive. A wake was to be held Tuesday night, WIS-TV reported, as Jack Kuenzie tweeted.
