Disney (DIS) fan club D23 is holding its first-ever virtual Halloween Mousequerade costume contest this year, offering fans a chance to win a prize worth up to $500.

The 2020 contest will select the best Disney-inspired costumes, which will be judged on quality, craftsmanship, originality, innovative use of materials, and relevance to the theme-- “All Things Disney.”

Expanding on the theme for the Halloween Mousequerade, D23 said costumes can encompass Disney, Pixar, and Marvel properties, “Star Wars” movies and TV shows, as well as Disney park attractions.

How To Enter

To enter the Halloween Mousequerade contest, participants must be a current D23 General, Gold, or Gold Family Member. Contest participants that are not members yet can sign up for a free general member account here before the event.

To submit a costume entry, an entry form must be completed online, and up to three photos can be uploaded to the D3 website. Contestants must also be 18 or older to participate.

Entries can be submitted starting Thursday at 12 a.m. PDT through Oct. 1 at 11:59 p.m. PDT, where a team of four soon-to-be-named celebrity judges will then decide the winners.

The Prizes

This year's offerings include a $500 Disney gift card for the grand prize winner, a $250 Disney gift card for the first runner-up, and a $100 Disney gift card for the second runner-up.

On Oct. 31, the D23 judges will reveal the winning costumes. The judging process will stream live on D23.com and on D23’s Facebook and YouTube channel at 2 p.m. PDT.

Shares of The Walt Disney Co. were trading at $133.32 as of 2:52 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, up $2.08 or 1.58%.
