The sweatshirt the character Dustin wore in Stranger Things 2 is in high demand. Netflix

The office buzz Monday morning was all about the newest installment of Stranger Things that was released over the weekend. The show that first premiered during the summer of 2016 came back with an entirely new season on Friday and many people spent the weekend binging the nine new episodes.

The show, set in the 80s, is full of throw back fashion, including one sweatshirt that caught the eye of some fans. That just happens to be a sweatshirt worn by the character Dustin in the show. The purple sweatshirt features a Brontosaurus skeleton with the name and the words “Thunder Lizard” along with the name of the museum it’s from, “The Science Museum of Minnesota.”

Requests for the sweatshirt began immediately and the museum responded as quickly as it could. A post on the museum’s Facebook page Friday said, “Stranger Things fans: Check out what Dustin is wearing in season 2, episode 1! Yes, we want one too. Working on it! #StrangerThings2.”

A spokesperson from the museum confirmed this to the St.Paul Pioneer Press. She said that the museum was working on creating the sweatshirt and it should be available for purchase later in the week. The museum had no heads up that the sweatshirt was going to be included in the show do it was a surprise when the tweets and Facebook posts started showing up. The museum ended made an updates page for anyone interested in receiving emails about the availability of the sweatshirt.

That page read, “Check out what Dustin is wearing in season 2, episode 1! Yes, we want one too. We're recreating this shirt and hope to have them soon! Want to be the first to get one? Sign up for our emails below we'll let you know when they're available.”

If you can’t wait until the museum has the sweatshirts back in stock there are some other retailers selling others like it online. The online seller Red Bubble has a version of the sweatshirt for sale for $46.88 and some sellers on Etsy have recreations of the sweatshirt as well.

But purchasing the sweatshirt from the museum, once it’s available, will help support the museum a spokesperson told the Minneapolis and St. Paul Business Journal. The museum’s version of the sweatshirt will be the official authentic version and it will be sold in the museum gift shop as well as online.
