The HTC Droid Incredible 2 will be released on April 28 through Verizon. Apart from not having 4G capabilities, the smartphone has specifications that can match any of the best smartphones.

HTC’s Droid Incredible 2 is based on the previous Incredible S, which was launched in 2010.

The smartphone has a 4-inch S-LCD capacitive touchscreen display which is similar to Motorola Atrix. It has input features prevalent in top HTC smartphones like Gorilla Glass display, multi-touch input method, and accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, proximity sensor for auto turn-off, HTC Sense UI and touch sensitive controls with rotating icons.

In terms of memory HTC Droid Incredible 2 has a huge 768 MB RAM which is less than Atrix's 1 GB RAM but is still equal to the RAM capacity found in HTC Inspire 4G and HTC Thunderbolt 4G. And HTC Droid Incredible 2 also has 1.1 GB ROM and has microSD support up to 32 GB like most of the smartphones. The smartphone will also make use of Verizon’s network hence will have Rev. A up to 3.1 Mbps 3G capability.

Like most high end smartphones of today, Droid Incredible 2 has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth version 2.1 with A2DP and EDR along with microUSB version 2.0.

The camera found in Droid Incredible 2 is 8-megapixel 3264x2448 pixels with autofocus, dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, touch-focus, face detection and image stabilization. It can capture video at 720p and features a 1.3-megapixel secondary camera.

Just like HTC Thunderbolt 4G, one of the best selling smartphones in the market, it features Android OS 2.2 (Froyo), 1 GHz Scorpion Adreno 205 GPU Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor and has slightly better battery capacity of 1450 mAh compared to HTC Thunderbolt's 1400 mAh battery.

Other features include SMS threaded view, MMS, Email, Push Email, IM, HTML browser, stereo FM radio with RDS, A-GPS support, Java MIDP emulator, SNS integration, digital compass, dedicated search key, Google search, Google maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk, Picasa integration, MP3/AAC+/WAV/WMA player, DivX/XviD/MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV player, organizer, SRS WOWHD surround sound enhancement, document viewer, voice memo-dial-commands and predictive text input.

The smartphone will be available for $199.99 with a new two year customer agreement. Although there is no 4G, DROID Incredible 2 by HTC is a global-ready Android smartphone, allowing customers to enjoy wireless voice and data service in more than 200 countries, with more than 125 with 3G speeds.
