Chinese smartphone giant Huawei is on fire this year, announcing a number of new handsets, which include Huawei Mate 30, the Mate 30 Pro and the Honor smartphone series. This week, the Chinese firm was reported to be working on the release of the Honor 20S smartphone in the European market.

Gizmo China reported the Honor 20s handset that Huawei plans to launch in Europe is nothing like the one that was released in China in September. Instead, the Chinese smartphone giant will launch the device as a rebranded Huawei P30 Lite.

Originally, the Honor 20S smartphone that was released in China and India came with the latest HiSilicon Kirin 810 octa-core mobile processor, 6GB of RAM, and 6.26-inch TFT LCD display. The device featured four rear camera setup, which includes the 48-megapixel main camera system, the 16-megapixel super wide-angle camera, 2-megapixel macro camera, and 2-megapixel depth camera sensor. The device was released in Phantom Black color for the global market and Icelandic white for the Chinese market, Gadget Now reported.

What the rebranded Honor device will bring in the European market

The rebranded Honor device will also share many similarities with the original Honor 20S smartphone that was introduced in China and India, but with less onboard RAM at 4GB and slightly smaller screen. Another big difference is the mobile chipset has been exchanged with less powerful and older mobile processors, the Kirin 710 mobile chipset.

As mentioned earlier by Gizmo China, the rebranded Honor 20S device will bring a triple rear camera setup: the 48-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera system, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. No significant pieces of information were posted about the secondary camera.

There’s also a fingerprint scanner system and a new Honor logo located at the bottom of the device. But, unlike the original Honor 20S smartphone, the rebranded Honor device will come in Europe in Midnight Black, Peacock Blue, and Pearl White. The device is expected to run on the Android 9.0 Pie mobile operating system and EMUI 9.0, a custom Android-based mobile operating system that was developed by Huawei for Huawei and Honor devices only.
