Hugh Hefner's Wife Crystal, Son Cooper Commemorate Playboy Founder's Third Death Anniversary

Hugh Hefner's family members commemorated his third death anniversary, with his wife Crystal and son Cooper paying tribute to him on social media.

Former playmate Crytal took to Instagram to commemorate the "Playboy" founder's death anniversary. She shared a photo of them as a couple and thanked the late entrepreneur for their years together.

"Three years. It’s hard to believe," Crystal wrote.

"Thank you for always being my greatest ally, teaching me the definition of kindness, and making me feel extremely important and adored for ten years. I will be forever grateful."

Meanwhile, Cooper shared a throwback photo on Instagram. The picture taken at the Playboy Mansion featured him when he was still a kid playing on the pond with Hugh watching him and his playmate from behind.

"We lost our father three years ago today. This will be an afternoon accompanied by Jack and Pepsi to celebrate him and our continued love. We miss and love you, Dad," Cooper wrote.

Hugh passed away at the age of 91 on Sept. 27, 2017. He was laid to rest next to Marilyn Monroe because that was what he wanted.

In 2012, Hugh said he felt a "double connection" with Monroe, who was born in the same year as him.

"I'm a believer in things symbolic. Spending eternity next to Marilyn is too sweet to pass up," Hugh said.

Weeks after his passing, Crystal was still grieving and couldn't bring herself to write back to those who reached out to her for condolences. She was still in disbelief about Hugh’s death and said he was already in the place he always wanted to spend eternity.

"I felt how much he loved me. I loved him so much. I am so grateful," she said at the time.

"He gave me life. He gave me direction. He taught me kindness. I will feel eternally grateful to have been by his side, holding his hand, and telling him how much I love him. He changed my life, he saved my life. He made me feel loved every single day. He was a beacon to the world, a force unlike anything else."

Crystal has already moved on from Hugh after three years. In July, she was photographed with her new boyfriend, Nathan Levi, at the Casa de Mita resort in Mexico.
