Crystal Harris is still mourning the loss of her husband, Hugh Hefner.

The Playboy founder passed away at the age of 91 on Sept. 27 at his home, the Playboy mansion, due to natural causes, according to the spokesperson for Playboy Enterprise. It's been almost a week since his passing, but his widow, Harris, is still grieving and heartbroken.

"I haven't been able to bring myself to write most people back to thank them for their condolences. I am heartbroken," Harris told Us Weekly on Monday. "I am still in disbelief. We laid him to rest Saturday. He is in the place he was always certain he wanted to spend eternity."

Harris also talked about the many good qualities her late husband. According to her, Hefner was an American hero with a kind and humble soul who opened up his life to the world. Even if the Playboy founder has had a considerable number of girlfriends, Harris is sure of his love for her. In fact, Harris said she believes Hefner is more than just a husband and a lover for her.

"I felt how much he loved me. I loved him so much. I am so grateful," Harris continued. "He gave me life. He gave me direction. He taught me kindness. I will feel eternally grateful to have been by his side, holding his hand, and telling him how much I love him. He changed my life, he saved my life. He made me feel loved every single day. He was a beacon to the world, a force unlike anything else."

Harris went on to say that she is mourning with the rest of the world and extended her gratitude to all the people who shared her sentiments and sent condolences.

According to reports, Hefner made sure that Harris would have her share from his multimillion fortune. He wanted her to live a comfortable life even without him. Harris is reportedly set to receive $5 million from Hefner's $43 million fortune. Initial reports claimed that she would not receive a penny from Hefner, but the latter made sure, ahead of his death, that his wife will not be left empty-handed.

In related news, Hefner was laid to rest on Saturday, Sept. 30 next to Marilyn Monroe. The funeral was held at the Westwood Village Memorial Park in Los Angeles.
