Ian Somerhalder's Wife Nikki Reed Is Expecting Second Baby; Actor Shares Emotional Post

Ian Somerhalder and his wife Nikki Reed are all set to welcome their second baby together.

The 44-year-old actor shared the good news with his 23.8 million Instagram followers Monday, confirming that his wife is pregnant again.

Somerhalder shared a photo of Reed flaunting her baby bump and holding their five-year-old daughter, Bodhi Soleil, in her arms. The actor revealed that he always wanted to have a big family and thanked Reed for the same.

"ROUND TWO HERE WE GO!!!!!" Somerhalder added. "Thank you thank you to this incredible human for the gift of life and love, for being the most incredible mom and working so hard to make dreams come true!!!"

"The Vampire Diaries" actor further wrote, "When I was taking this photo, I could not believe what I was seeing through that viewfinder. There's nothing more beautiful. All I ask is that everyone sends positivity to Nik & I during this time."

He concluded the post by pointing out that "social space" can be "strange" but it can also be "great" at times.

The 34-year-old actress also shared the same photo on her Instagram handle and wrote, "2023 celebrating life. Years of dreaming, manifesting, and praying over this very moment. So much love. What a gift."

Reed noted that she has "very strong boundaries with social media, especially when it comes to children and what I choose to put out into the world. Thank you so much for honoring that, and for sending positivity and kindness and LOVE. Some things are too good not to share."

Since the pregnancy news was shared on Instagram, many celebrities flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages.

Actor Kellan Lutz's wife Brittany Lutz wrote, "Nikki!!!!! This is the best news!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!" Actresses Teresa Palmer, Melissa Wood and Emilie de Ravin also shared their wishes for the couple.

Reed and Somerhalder got married in 2015 and the couple welcomed their first baby in 2017. They first began dating in 2014 and got engaged in February 2015.
