Manchester United star forward Marcus Rashford has raised $25 million that will be used to provide meals to vulnerable people in the United Kingdom during these tough lockdown times amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Rashford, who has been working with charity FareShare UK during the lockdown, has said he will “keep fighting” until no child in the U.K. has to worry about their daily meals. His money will help them providing at least three million meals, as reported by BBC.

Rashford, earlier, was recognized for his charity work in Great Manchester. The 22-year-old striker received the High Sheriff Special Recognition Award for his outstanding contribution to the community of Greater Manchester during the COVID-19 crisis.

Rashford and his team at the charity had set a goal of supplying three million meals by end of June and the Man Utd player recently announced that they met the target before adding, “There is so much more to do. This is England in 2020 and families need help."

“Guys, I’ve AMAZING news. We had a goal that by the end of June we would be able to supply 3 million meals to vulnerable people across the UK. Today we have met the financial goal to provide these meals. Thank you all so much for the support."

"And whilst I'm celebrating this, there is so much more to do. Trust me when I say, I will keep fighting until no child in the UK has to worry about where their next meal is coming from. This is England in 2020 and families need help,” Rashford wrote on his official Twitter account.

Rashford, who was out of action with an injury when the Premier League halted in March, has recovered and has begun training with the team. Before being ruled out, he looked “unstoppable at times", according to his Man Utd teammate Luke Shaw.

“He’s looked unstoppable at times this season and he’s looked so confident. I haven’t seen that in him before. He was always confident, but not to this level, and he’s matured so much."

"He knows he has the ability to be one of the best and he’s pushing himself all the time to maximize that. There’s no reason why, if he keeps going, keeps pushing himself, that he can’t win it (the Ballon d'Or) one day,” Shaw added about Rashford, who has netted 19 goals in 31 games so far in 2019-20 season.
