After the Aug 27 recall by Nature’s One for its PediaSmart Soy Vanilla Beverage Mix because of a possible milk allergen, which was not declared on the label, Abbott Laboratories (ABT) has issued a recall for Calcilo XD infant formula because of inconsistencies in its aroma and color.

The recalled infant formula affects a single lot of 13.2-ounce/375-gram powder cans. The lot number is 79696K80, which is located on the bottom of the can. The affected infant formula was sold in throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Consumers that have purchased the recalled Calcilo XD infant formula powder cans should discontinue using the product and contact Abbott for instruction on how to return or replace the product at 1-800-850-7677 in the U.S. and 1-855-733-4201 in Canada.

The recall does not affect any other lots of Calcilo XD infant formula or any other Abbott nutritional products, the company said.

The voluntary recall was made by the company “out of an abundance of caution.”

Shares of Abbott Laboratories stock were up 0.25 percent as of 9:42 a.m. ET on Thursday.
