“Injustice 2,” the upcoming sequel to 2013’s “Injustice: Gods Among Us,” won’t be arriving until 2017. However, the game’s director is already teasing fans of the possibility that Red Hood will be part of the roster.

“Injustice 2” director Ed Boon recently took to Twitter to ask fans which version of the Red Hood they would want to be part of the upcoming game. Boon posted a poll and fans had to choose between Jason Todd and the Joker. As of this writing, Jason Todd has 80 percent of the votes.

For the uninitiated, Red Hood was the criminal persona of the Joker before he fell into a pool of chemicals that bleached his skin white and dyed his hair green. Later on, Jason Todd took the persona of the Red Hood and returned to Gotham City to seek revenge on the Joker for murdering him years prior.

In “Injustice: Gods Among Us,” Joker is already a playable character. He even has an alternate skin where he is wearing his signature Red Hood attire from the comics. With Boon holding the poll on his Twitter page, it does seem like the obvious choice would be Jason Todd considering that Joker already has the Red Hood skin in “Gods Among Us.” Perhaps Boon is simply playing around with the fans and hinting that the Jason Todd version of the Red Hood is indeed coming to “Injustice 2.”

As of now, characters that are already confirmed to be part of the roster include Batman, The Flash, Superman, Supergirl, Aquaman, Gorilla Grodd and Atrocious. The latest characters that were confirmed recently are Wonder Woman and the Blue Beetle, according to GameSpot.

“Injustice 2” does not have a release date yet, but it is expected to release sometime in 2017. The game will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while a PC version is likely but not confirmed just yet.
