A Softbank president’s unintentional announcement just confirmed that Apple will release the iPhone 11 on September 20.

Softbank President Ken Miyauchi's announcement unintentionally confirmed that the rumored September 20 iPhone release is indeed true. In an interview at an investor event, Miyauchi indirectly undisclosed that one of Apple’s most awaited 2019 phones will launch 10 days before the first of October.

The statement came out after the Softbank president was asked how he would respond to Japan’s revised Telecommunications Business Law. The said law aims to eliminate high priced data plans through high-end device bundling. Carriers will be required to separate data from device plans effective October 1.

Miyauchi responded stating that he was wondering what he should do for 10 days with the iPhone unbundled at launch and will be a part of a bundle beginning from the first of October. The Softbank president later retracted his statement saying that he should not have said the statement and later clarified that he actually has no idea on the iPhone 11 release date.

The abovementioned 10 days matches to the difference between the rumored September 20 iPhone release date and the October 1 revised Telecommunications Business Law implementation.

Following the outline set by Apple for the past years in releasing their latest iPhones, and if rumors will be proven true, the September 20 iPhone 11 launch will be a late date for the tech giant historically. Apple even created a pattern of not releasing their iPhones later than September 13.

Based on the Cupertino-based company’s history, the usual iPhone release date falls on the second Tuesday or Wednesday of September, which means September 10 and September 11 for 2019. If Apple will follow their yearly date of iPhone launch then September 10 will be the most probable launch date as the company does not hold any big event on September 11.

If the September 20 iPhone 11 launch is true, then the usual second week iPhone launch will only be a pre-order date, in this case, September 13. This is primarily because the first pre-orders are expected to arrive after a week.

We’ll keep you posted on the latest on iPhone 11 release.
