iPhone users have several options if they want to share photos that capture their most important moments, but one way to do it efficiently is with the use of iCloud Links.

There are a variety of ways to share photos using an iPhone. Those who are sharing pictures with another iPhone user, or anyone who has an Apple device, can opt to use AirDrop. iPhone users can also send images to other Apple smartphone owners using iMessage.

Uploading images to emails to be sent to those who aren't using Apple devices is another option. This can also be done using other apps such as Messenger. These ways, and more, make sharing photos easy. But one method that could make the whole process much easier is the use of iCloud Links.

iCloud links basically work by giving recipients a link or URL to the photos that are stored in the cloud. The link works across a variety of platforms – email, iMessage, browsers and so on – which means it won't require users to have a specific device to open it. The only thing it will require users is internet connection, whether Wi-Fi or cellular data.

How can iPhone users share photos using iCloud links? Here's how.

  • First, users will need to open the Photos app.
  • Second, once there, users should tap on Select at the upper-right portion of the screen then select the photos they want to share.
  • Third, after selecting the desired images, users should tap on the Share icon at the lower-left corner of the screen.
  • Fourth, once the Share Sheet appears, users should scroll down and tap on Copy iCloud Link. “Preparing iCloud Link” should pop up on the screen shortly after that, then the Share Sheet will close.
  • Fifth, users should then share the link to others using their preferred platform. It can be sent via the Messages app, Messenger and other apps. Users should press and hold on the text field, tap on Paste, then send the link to the desired recipient.

Recipients will be able to see the photos by tapping on the iCloud link.

Users should remember that anyone with the link can view and download the photos anytime, which means they should be careful when sharing links. The feature works when iCloud Photos is enabled via Settings > Photos.
