Jack White Webcast: Gary Oldman to Direct 'Blunderbuss' Show in NYC

Jack White is set to release his solo debut, Blunderbuss, in co-ordinance with a live streamed concert, directed by actor Gary Oldman.

The concert is said to be the first show for the third season of the American Express' Unstaged series, which pairs top musical acts with renowned filmmakers.

It just fell from the sky, Oldman told the New York Times of his collaboration with White. Occasionally you get calls and they just drop in. I didn't have to think very quickly about it. I just said, 'Yeah, that sounds very good.'

The series is known for having drawn more than 70 million streams for performances from Arcade Fire, Coldplay, Mary J. Blige and others.

Jack White's Unstaged concert, which is being held at New York's Webster Hall, will be streamed live on Apr. 27 at 9 p.m. EST on VEVO, as well as on mobile devices and YouTube apps for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Android -- all free of charge.

Fans will have plenty of time to listen to White's new solo album before the show. Blunderbuss is currently being streamed online on iTunes.

The Webster Hall concert is only the third date in a string of shows that White plans to do in support of the release of his solo debut, as he has recently confirmed two prior shows in Paris and the UK.

White's tour will be closed out by a headlining gig at this year's Lollapalooza.
