Jada Pinkett Smith is embracing her hair loss.

After making the decision to shave off all of her hair earlier this year, the 50-year-old actress shared an update on her struggle with alopecia — an autoimmune disorder that attacks hair follicles resulting in bald spots and hair loss — in a candid video posted to Instagram Tuesday.

In the clip, Pinkett Smith showed off a bald line patch along the center of her scalp as she shared the positive spin she's putting on her hair loss.

"Now at this point, I can only laugh," she said. "Y'all know I've been struggling with alopecia and just all of a sudden one day, look at this line right here. Look at that."

She continued, "So it just showed up like that and this is going to be a little bit more difficult for me to hide. So I thought I'd just share it so y'all are not asking any questions."

Pinkett Smith, however, appeared to have embraced the change as she shared some potential styling ideas, such as putting rhinestones on her bare scalp patch and making "a little crown."

In the caption of the Instagram video, she joked, "Mama's gonna have to take it down to the scalp so nobody thinks she got brain surgery or something. Me and this alopecia are going to be friends … period!"

Jahnavi Harrison showed her support to Pinkett Smith in the comments section, writing: "Gorgeous as always… it’s your tiara spot!"

The "Girls Trip" star decided to completely shave her head back in July after a little convincing from her 21-year-old daughter, Willow Smith, whom she shares with husband Will Smith.

Pinkett Smith showed off the look on Instagram at the time, sharing a photo of herself posing alongside her daughter as well as a clip giving a closer look at her then-newly shaved head.

"Willow made me do it because it was time to let go," Pinkett Smith wrote in the caption. "BUT … my 50s are bout to be divinely lit with this shed."

In a 2018 "Red Table Talk" episode about body confessions, the actress opened up about her "issues with hair loss" as she explained why she had been wearing turbans.

According to Pinkett Smith, she was terrified when she first started losing "handfuls" of hair in the shower, and the prospect of going bald had her "shaking in fear."

"My hair has been a big part of me. Taking care of my hair has been a beautiful ritual," she explained.

Pinkett Smith shared that she eventually got steroid injection treatments, which halted some of the hair loss but did not cure her condition.

The "Matrix Resurrections" star expressed her gratitude to the experts, including doctors and holistic practitioners, who reached out to her and gave her advice after she revealed her struggle with alopecia.
