Latinas in Hollywood have each other’s backs. “Desperate Housewives” alum Eva Longoria, who directed episode 3 of “Jane the Virgin” Season 3, recently expressed her love for her fellow Latina and the show’s lead star, Gina Rodriguez, by showering her with praise.

“I love uplifting and supporting young actors, not only Latinos and Latinas but just young actors in general who have a huge responsibility of being number one on the call sheet and being the star of the show,” Longoria told Access Hollywood. “It’s a lot of work, it’s a lot of hours. I always tell them, ‘Suck it up! You’re about to be a star.’”

“I’m a super fan of Gina Rodriguez. I think she’s uberly talented,” she added.

The love goes both ways because Rodriguez also adores Longoria. “I hope she comes back and directs more. That’s like, my huge prayer. Direct more, be in it, anything you want - you can have it all!” she said.

Meanwhile, the cast members of the show also have nothing but praise for this season’s special guest stars: Gloria and Emilio Estefan. In an upcoming episode, the Estefans will play themselves and will be Rogelio Dela Vega’s (Jamie Camil) best friends.

When Rodriguez was asked by E! News to name her favorite guest this season, she answered, "That's difficult because we're only on episode 8, but Emilio and Gloria Estefan, I mean…we had Eva Longoria direct which was absolutely incredible.”

Andrea Navedo, who plays Ximoara Villanueva, added, “I love each and every one of our guest on the show, they each bring something different to our show. But my favorites have been Gloria Estefan and her husband, Emilio. They were just so wonderful. It was like having our tio and our tia visit us, and come hang out with us. We were just beaming, beaming the day after they left, even the crew was saying, ‘Wasn't that the best day yesterday?’”

“Gossip Girl” alum Kelly Rutherford is also one of the show’s guest stars. According to People, she will play a high-profile publisher who hires Jane as her second assistant.

“Jane the Virgin” Season 3 airs every Monday at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
