Update Monday, May 1 at 10:54 p.m. EDT: The story originally said Jackson was fighting her estranged husband, Wissam Al Mana, in court over their son, Eissa. It has been updated to reflect that Jackson said she was in court, but not that the proceedings were over custody.

Grammy winner Janet Jackson confirmed she was in court with estranged husband Wissam Al Mana in a Twitter video Monday. The post was a rare update from the “Nasty” singer, who became reclusive once she started to date Al Mana in 2010.

“Hey you guys, it's me Jan just in case you don't recognize me because I have put on quite a few since I had my baby, but I thank God for him you guys,” Jackson, 50, said with a smile. “He's so healthy. He's so beautiful, so loving, such a happy baby.”

She then turned the conversation to her estranged husband. “This message was supposed to be about something else, but I'll get to that in a minute. I just want to keep it real with you guys for a quick second. Yes, I separated from my husband. We are in court and the rest is in God's hands.”

But that wasn’t Jackson’s only news. She also wanted to tell fans that her tour was still on.

“I'm continuing my tour as I promised. I'm so excited you guys. I decided to change the name of the tour: State of the World tour,” she said. “It's not about politics. It's about people, the world, relationships and just love.”

The singer continued: “I want to thank you guys for your patience, for all your support throughout the years. I cannot wait to see you on stage Sept. 7.”

Jackson originally canceled the tour last year because she said she wanted to have children with Al Mana. “My husband and I are planning our family,” she said in April 2016. “So I’m going to have to delay the tour.”

Before Monday’s update, the last time Jackson took to social media was to share a picture of herself with her son on Instagram and Twitter. “My baby and me after nap time,” she captioned the image, which was like nearly 275,000 times on Instagram.

Jackson confirmed her split from the Qatari billionaire last month. Before that, an insider said she was smitten with her new son, who was born Jan. 3.

“She just feels so blessed everything went well and her baby is healthy,” a source told E! Online at the time. “She is totally in love. She is taking time to just be with her baby at this time and that's all she really wants.”

Her birth announcement was brief. “Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al Mana into the world,” a rep for Jackson told People Magazine in January. “Janet had a stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably.”
