Presidential son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner is all for schools reopening this month, and says he will send his school-aged children despite the danger from COVID-19.

Responding to a question on CBS News' "Face the Nation," Kushner said he has "no fear" about sending his children back to school for in-person learning this academic year.

"This virus impacts people in different ways," said Kushner." "We know a lot more now than we did, and assuming -- our school is not opening up five days a week, I wish they were -- but we absolutely will be sending our kids back to school, and I have no fear in doing so."

The comment comes as schools across the country struggle to open their doors this fall without exposing cildren, teachers, staff and parents to the deadly disease.

Kushner and wife Ivanka have three children (two school-aged) in 10 years of marriage: Arabella Rose (9 years-old), Joseph Fredrick (6) and Theodore James (4).

Arabella began schooling in January 2017 at the "Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School of the Nation's Capital" in Washington D. C. Her grandfather, Donald Trump, was sworn in as U.S. president that same month. Joseph Frederick will also attend the same school this fall.

Barron William, 14, Trump's son with First Lady Melania Trump, will enter ninth grade at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School located in Montgomery County in Potomac, Md. The 2020-21 school year was scheduled to begin Sept. 8 but was pushed back to Oct. 1 due to an order from the Montgomery County Health Office.

Ivanka Trump converted to Orthodox Judaism before marrying Jared Kushner, an observant Jew. She's describes her children's upbringing as decidedly Jewish in nature. Her family observes the traditional Jewish Sabbath and celebrates all the Jewish holidays such as Hanukkah, or the festival of lights

Also in the interview, Kushner praised his father-in-law's campaign to accelerate development and deployment of a COVID-19 vaccine through Operation Warp Speed (OWS). He noted there are now six different candidate vaccine starting Phase 3 trials.

"We have a lot more knowledge about who the virus impacts, in which ways," he said. "And we've created a lot of ways to prevent it from spreading in certain places. And we've created a lot of ways to help people who do get it have a much more benign experience with it. So we're entering a much more strategic approach, which we're going to be taking until we do have a fully approved and safe vaccine that we can widely distribute."
