Jared Padalecki knew he had to address his recent arrest at his first “Supernatural” convention appearance since the incident, so he chose to do so in a lighthearted way. He showed up to a Jacksonville, Florida, fan convention in a shirt with his character’s mug shot.

Padalecki arrived on stage in a black button-down shirt, but according to fan accounts on Twitter, he took it off to reveal the mug shot tee. The photo is not his actual mug shot but instead a photo from a 2007 episode of “Supernatural” in which the Winchesters get arrested to hunt down a spirit haunting a prison.

The actor, who has played Sam Winchester for 15 seasons on The CW show, was arrested in Austin in October and charged with two counts of assault and one count of public intoxication.

A week after the arrest, Padalecki posted a message thanking his fans and family for support.

At another fan convention earlier this month, “Supernatural” co-star Jensen Ackles revealed that the crew of the fantasy show also tried to make light of the situation when the star returned to Vancouver.

“But when he showed up on set on Wednesday, I brought him in in handcuffs, so we were having fun with it,” Ackles revealed to fans (according to Us Weekly).

“The crew really wanted to wear orange jumpsuits, but we couldn’t get ‘em in time,” he continued. “It wasn’t like we thought it was a bad idea — we were certainly going to roll with it. Anyway, he’s doing fine.”

Padalecki is currently filming the final season of “Supernatural,” and he already has his next job lined up. He’ll star in a “Walker, Texas Ranger” reboot as the leading man. The CW and CBS are both reportedly interested in the pilot.

“Supernatural” airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
