Jennifer Lopez "liked" a shady post on social media about people who pretend to care, and fans are speculating that she may be sending a subtle message regarding her ex-fiancé, Alex Rodriguez.

Lopez and Rodriguez announced Thursday that they have ended their two-year engagement. But later that day, the singer liked a post on Instagram shared by author Reuben Holmes, a.k.a. r.h. Sin, about people faking that they care, Us Weekly reported.

"Don’t make her think you care when you have never given a f—k about her," the quote read.

"Don't let them manipulate you. How many times have you been told 'I love you' by someone who has continued to treat you like s--t?" the caption continued.

Prior to this, Lopez and Rodriguez released a statement announcing that their relationship is over and that they are "better as friends."

"We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so," the exes said in a joint statement to the "Today" show. "We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support."

Though they tried to make their relationship work, Rodriguez saw their split coming because Lopez has not been happy "for a while now," an unnamed insider told E! News. The source further suggested that the former MLB star, who was recently linked to "Southern Charm's" Madison LeCroy, broke the singer's trust.

"Once her trust is broken, there's no turning around," the source told the outlet. "She feels good about her decision because she knows A.Rod will still be in her life, just in a different capacity."

The insider said the exes are "very cordial." But though Lopez is open to remaining friends with Rodriguez, she does not want to see him during this time and will be staying in Los Angeles for a while, the tipster added.

Lopez and Rodriguez also still have to figure out how to separate their various business entanglements. "They still have their mansion, they still have deals they were working on together," an unnamed source told Us Weekly. "Everything is in the process of being sorted out."
