Professional golfer Jordan Spieth recently won the Valero Texas Open, a golfing event sanctioned by the PGA Tour. Here’s how much he won from the tournament.

Spieth, former world number one golfer, three-time winner of the major golf tournaments and champion of the 2015 FedEx Cup, just bagged $1,386,000 from the recently concluded Texas Open, Golf Week first reported.

His winnings throughout his professional golfing career netted him $40 million from PGA tournaments so far. Spieth’s total net worth amounts to around $110 million, as per Celebrity Net Worth.

According to Forbes, his earnings from the sport landed him on the list of highest-paid athletes in 2020, ranking no. 52 and tying with NBA players such as Jimmy Butler, Gordon Hayward and Kemba Walker.

Spieth got to buy a 10,000-square-foot mansion worth $7.15 million from fellow golfer Hunter Mahan due to his extensive and successful golfing career. The property features five bedrooms, an indoor basketball court, a 12-car garage and a state-of-the-art gym with a realistic golf simulator.

Before becoming a renowned and world-class professional golfer, Spieth first established himself as a formidable, up-and-coming athlete. His amateur career achievements include winning twice at the U.S. Junior Amateur (2009, 2011), joining Tiger Woods as the golf tourney’s only two-time junior champions.

He was also named Rolex Junior Player of the Year by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) in 2009, following his commendable second-place finishes at the 2008 and 2009 Junior PGA Championships. Likewise, in 2011, the AJGA rated the then 17-year-old Spieth as the no. 1 golfer in the whole world.

Spieth’s success in amateur golf translated to his professional career. In fact, he was named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 2013 due to his performance in notable golf tournaments, such as the Puerto Rico Open, Tampa Bay Championship and the RBC Heritage.

Spieth’s victory at the John Deere Classic paved the way toward his eligibility to compete in major golf tournaments. Spieth won his first major at the 2015 Master’s Tournament, where he bagged the $1.8 million winner’s share from a total tourney prize pool of $10 million.
