Disney is reportedly working on a sequel to Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt’s "Jungle Cruise" after the success of the first installment.

"Jungle Cruise" was released on July 30. It earned $100 million in the United States, while it made 86 million internationally, according to the Box Office Mojo.

After the success of the movie, Disney is currently working on the sequel based on Disneyland's adventures, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Blunt and Johnson will reprise their roles as Frank Wolff and Dr. Lily Houghton, respectively.

Michael Green will pen the screenplay of the sequel and director Jaume Collet-Serra will helm the movie, the report said.

The first installment of the adventure fantasy earned $35 million in the opening weekend, which cemented the movie as a hit at the box office. Moreover, the movie earned $30 million within three days of its release on Disney+ Premier Access.

Last week, Johnson took to Instagram to thank his fans for supporting his movie.

"Our box office numbers have been fantastic as you guys are pushing us over $100M here in the US alone and you’ve already made JUNGLE CRUISE the biggest family blockbuster of the year worldwide!!!" Johnson captioned a video on Instagram, adding, "THANK YOU."

"And JUNGLE CRUISE is also available right now in your living rooms on @disneyplus because as you guys know ~ I’ll always provided (sic) options for you and your families to enjoy my movies however you’re comfortable during this challenging pandemic," he added.

Johnson will be next seen in the action-comedy movie, "Red Notice," which is slated to release on Nov. 12, this year. This Rawson Marshall Thurber's directorial also stars Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot.

Besides "Red Notice," the actor is currently working on his first superhero movie, "Black Adam," which is slated to release on July 29, 2022. The movie also stars Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Pierce Brosnan and Aldis Hodge in key roles.

Blunt, on the other hand, is currently filming "The English" television series and will also feature in "Not Fade Away," which is under pre-production.
