Although “Jurassic World 2” is currently filming, we already have the first photo of the movie. The film’s director J.A. Bayona and producer Colin Trevorrow shared the image on their Twitter accounts.

The chilling photo shows a young girl staring at the eyes of a triceratops skull. She is surrounded by displays of dinosaur skeletons. The girl seems terrified and she probably should be.

This girl in the picture is a new character in “Jurassic World 2.” According to a casting call in an article by Jurassic Outpost, she may be a 9-year-old girl named Lucy. The call specified that the girl must be nine years of age. The crew sought a sensitive and clever young actress who could enact complex scenes and myriad emotions ranging from love to anxiety, bravery and shock. Very little is known about the actress playing this role or details of her character.

However, “Jurassic World 2” actress Bryce Dallas Howard, who played operations manager Claire Dearing in the first movie, shared a photo of the actress playing Lucy on the eight day of shooting. She described her as “kind, intelligent and inquisitive.”

Plot details of the sequel are scarce at the moment but what is known is that the story will involve Dr. Henry Wu (B. D. Wong). He was the geneticist who stole embryos of dinosaurs and escaped the island in a helicopter. It was revealed that he had an alliance with Hoskins (Vincent D’Onofrio) who wanted to use the dinosaurs as weapons.

Trevorrow told Wired back in 2015, “Dr. Wu says in the film, when he’s warning Dr. Mesrani, ‘we’re not always going to be the only ones who can make a dinosaur.’ I think that’s an interesting idea that even if we don’t explore fully in this film, there is room for this universe to expand.”

“Jurassic World 2” stars Chris Pratt, Howard, Daniella Pineda, Ted Levine, Justice Smith, and Geraldine Chaplin. It hits theatres on June 22, 2018.
