KEY POINTS

  • Production of "Jurassic World 3" has been stopped becasue of coronavirus
  • None of the cast and crew members have been infected
  • Filming may resume after monitoring the situation in the coming weeks

The production of the highly anticipated upcoming movie “Jurassic World 3” has been stopped because of fears related to the spread of coronavirus. After months of preparation with the dinosaur animatronics, the cast and crew have been forced to stop the work for the safety of the people involved in the project.

There have been no reports of any of the cast and crewmembers of the film being infected, and the production was stopped only as a precautionary measure, CBR reported. Universal Studios took the decision after several other companies like Disney and Netflix stopped filming of some of their projects.

Filming was taking place in London, and Universal announced that the production was stopped from the weekend. The company said that it is monitoring the situation and that filming will resume in the coming weeks after it feels that it is safe to do so.

A few days of hiatus may not affect the release date of the movie. However, it remains to be seen how long the break will last and if the long break will affect the production schedule of “Jurassic World 3.”

Apart from the hiatus in filming, another issue that may affect the release date of the movie is the rescheduling of the other movies that are currently in production, Screen Rant reported. If the release of other movies are also rescheduled, then Universal will have to consider changing the release date of “Jurassic World 3” by keeping the competition in mind.

Colin Trevorrow is directing the upcoming film. He co-wrote the script with Emily Carmichael, Variety reported. Trevorrow is also executive producing the movie with Steven Speilberg. Pat Crowley and Frank Marshall will be producing.

“Jurassic World 3” is scheduled to be released on June 11, 2021. The cast members include Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and BD Wong.
