Taking a subtle dig at Manchester United's approach, Jurgen Klopp on Sunday said it's a "fact" that they always choose to defend against Liverpool at Old Trafford.

Klopp's comment came after Man Utd held the Premier League leaders at 1-1 draw with Marcus Rashford and Adam Lallana scoring for Man Utd and Liverpool respectively.

"This year, last year, the year before, they just defend. That's how it is. It is OK. It is no criticism. It is just a fact. When you think about Manchester United against Liverpool, you think both teams are trying like this. But it is not. We try," the German, who has not registered a win in five visits to Old Trafford as Liverpool boss, added.

The draw brought an end to Liverpool's 17-match winning run in the Premier League. That meant, they fell one short of equalizing Manchester City's record total of 18 straight victories in the Premier League.
Although Liverpool remain on the top of the table, the draw has reduced their lead over Man City to just six points.

Rashford's goal that opened the scoreline in the first half on Sunday was controversial. Klopp and the entire Liverpool side were adamant that Divock Origi had been fouled by Man Utd's defender Victor Lindelof moments before Rashford's goal. The VAR check allowed the goal to stand, leaving the visiting side furious.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho, who was a television pundit during Man Utd's fixture against Liverpool on Sunday, suggested that Klopp's teams "have limitations against teams with low blocks".

"He [Klopp] didn't like the menu - he likes meat and he got fish," Mourinho told Sky Sports.

"United, with the limitations they have at the moment, played with five at the back, were solid and didn't give the chance of transition. Jurgen didn't like the menu. Liverpool missed quality to play against a team with a low block. They can smash opponents that play the way they want to play against," Mourinho, who was sacked as Man Utd's boss last season following a loss to Klopp's team, added.

"Jurgen clearly has frustrations. It's a fantastic situation for his team but at Old Trafford - which is a special place to win - he never did it," the Portuguese man said.
