  • Justin Bieber said the press runs old photos of him to make him look "unwell"
  • In November 2020, he called out the media for using photos of him looking "sick"
  • Bieber was previously diagnosed with a disease affecting his skin and overall health

Justin Bieber wants the media to stop using unflattering photos of him. The actor took to Instagram Stories on Wednesday to call out the press for using photos that make him look "sick and unwell," saying "it’s not right."

“I’m still in shock we are still using these photos of me,” he wrote. “I’m telling you media wants to pick bad photos of me to make it look like I’m not okay,” he added.

Bieber told his fans that news outlets are picking photos of him from last year because they wanted to make him look unwell.

“There have been countless photo shoots and opportunities for media to pick up other photos but they still run with this one to make me look sick and unwell, it’s not right,” he said.

This is not the first time Bieber called out the press for using old photos of him. Back in November, the “Peaches” vocalist also shared on Instagram Stories images of him popping up in online searches, saying he looks “disheveled” in all of them.

“This was a time where I was really unhealthy. I was battling Lyme disease, right?” he said of one of the photos.

“All of the top photos are me looking disheveled, right? I was obviously going through a tough time, but it’s like, these are the photos that the media tries to run with,” he said talking about another collage of his photos.

“I don’t know what the algorithm is for why certain photos came up. But this is so frustrating considering that I took a lot of time to get healthy and I feel as though people try to legitimately sabotage me,” he continued.

The singer and songwriter shed light on his Lyme disease in a 2020 documentary. Before it came out, Bieber took to social media to talk about his condition.

“While a lot of people kept saying [Bieber] looks like s**t, on meth etc. they failed to realize I’ve been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease,” he wrote in a now-deleted post. He also revealed that aside form Lyme, he had a serious case of chronic mono that affected his “skin, brain function, energy, and overall health.”
