  • Kate Beckinsale has reunited with her daughter Lily Mo Sheen after two years
  • The two were unable to see each other due to working engagements and the COVID restrictions
  • Beckinsale is thankful for communication apps like FaceTime amid the pandemic

Kate Beckinsale was not pleased that it took about two years before she and her daughter, Lily Mo Sheen, could see each other again due to the COVID-19 restrictions amid the pandemic.

During an appearance on “Live With Kelly and Ryan” Friday, the “Underworld” actress, 52, opened up about having to spend the past two years away from her 22-year-old daughter with ex Michael Sheen amid the global health crisis.

“Two years of not seeing your child is, to me, the most preposterous thought. It’s ridiculous,” she said.

Beckinsale added that she’s thankful for communication apps like FaceTime that helped her stay connected with her only child. However, she jokingly added that she and Lily “we’re both panicking that we’ll look really old to each other.”

During their time apart, Beckinsale went to Canada for a working engagement. She stayed there on a locked-down shoot, as per USA Today.

Following her guest appearance on the morning talk show, Beckinsale was spotted at John F. Kennedy Airport later that day where she was seen reuniting with her daughter and the latter’s boyfriend, David Schecter.

In the images obtained and released by Page Six Sunday, the Hollywood star could be seen donning a stylish all-black ensemble that she paired with white pumps. Beckinsale also wore large sunglasses and a black face mask during the sighting.

On the other hand, Lily and her boyfriend kept it casual by sporting white shirts with printed designs on the front and white face masks. They also appeared to be wearing denim pants as they were making their way through the airport.

Lily is seemingly following in the footsteps of her mother as she just filmed her debut film with actor Nicolas Cage. In the movie, the young star is portraying the role of Cage’s daughter.

Beckinsale’s daughter filmed the project, entitled “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent,” while she was staying in New York. Aside from the movie, Lily has also been residing in the Big Apple because she’s a student at New York University.

Lily’s debut film is scheduled for release sometime in 2022.
