Kate Middleton is fond of dogs.

On Tuesday, the Duchess of Cambridge visited London’s Lavender Primary School. She received a warm welcome from the students and the school dog, Herbie, a cockapoo, who stole the show, People first reported.

Middleton knelt down to give the pooch a pat as he put his paws on the royals’ arm to get a closer sniff. Herbie wasn’t contented, he poked his nose around Middleton’s signature bouncy hair and she didn’t mind it. Middleton was all smiles as she continued to chat with the student handler.

It wasn’t actually the first time Middleton was photographed with a fur friend. She loves them and has tons of pictures with these animals in the past years.

In March 2018, Middleton was photographed presenting a shamrock to the famous Irish Wolfhound, named Domhnall, during the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Aldershot, England. The duchess was eight-months pregnant with Prince Louis at the time and was all smiles as she patted the dog.

In April 2014, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge concluded their official trip to New Zealand by visiting the Royal New Zealand Police College in Wellington. There, Prince William and Middleton met the brave future police puppies. The royals cuddled the tiny German Shepherds who were very well-behaved.

Prince William and Middleton also own an English Cocker Spaniel they named Lupo. According to Natalie Bressani, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge decided to get the dog to cheer Middleton up whenever Prince William is away.

“When Prince William was away in the Falkland Islands he went for dinner with some good friends of ours in the Air Force and he was saying how difficult it was for Kate because he was leaving for six weeks,” Bressani told Hello!

“It was when they’d just got the spaniel to help her with the time apart. She appreciates what wives and families go through,” she added.

Prince William and Middleton got Lupo in early 2012. Lupo was born from Ella, a family dog owned by Middleton’s parents. Since then, he has been a trusty companion and has joined the family in a polo match. Lupo also starred in several official photos of Prince William and Middleton especially when Prince George was still a baby.
