Kate Middleton was reportedly nervous when she celebrated her first Christmas with the royal family after marrying Prince William in April 2011.

In the Channel 5 documentary “Sandringham: The Queen at Christmas,” royal expert Claudia Joseph said that the Duchess of Cambridge was nervous because of all the wardrobe changes she had to do.

Prince William’s wife had to wear formal attire at the Christmas Eve party, which is considered a black-tie event. She also wore a different attire at the Christmas Day church service. Middleton once again changed her attire when she joined her husband and the royal family for the Boxing Day shooting party.

Meanwhile, royal expert Ingrid Seward also said that the future Queen was terrified to attend the Christmas festivities of the royal family before she married Prince William. Her Majesty invited the mom of three to their celebration.

“It’s very difficult for an outsider – Kate was terrified! It was not that they’re not friendly and sweet; it’s just that there are so many things that can go wrong,” Seward said.

But throughout the past couple of years, Middleton has adjusted well to her life as a royal. Every holiday season, she steps out with her husband looking more and more confident.

This year will be extra special for the Cambridges because their two children, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte are expected to make a debut during the Christmas walkabout.

Prior to their outing, Prince William and Middleton’s Christmas card photo was also leaked online. Royal expert Camilla Tominey told ITV’s “This Morning” described Prince William, Middleton, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis’ photo as a relaxed shot.

Since the Cambridges’ Christmas card photo was leaked online, Tominey said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will most likely release a more endearing family image before or on Christmas Day.

On Tuesday night, Kensington Palace shared a black and white photo of Prince William kissing Prince Louis. Prince George and Princess Charlotte are also featured in the snap.
