Kate Middleton and Prince William received a bizarre wedding gift from London mayor Boris Johnson.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had their royal wedding in 2010. Among their guests was Johnson who was known for implementing the “Boris bike” bicycle. He gave Prince William and Middleton a tandem “Boris bike” as a wedding gift.

Johnson reportedly went to the Trafalgar Square after the wedding ceremony and joined Prince William and Middleton’s well-wishers. There they watched the wedding on the big screen and he proposed a toast and cut a wedding cake.

“I look forward to seeing the newlyweds on tandem wheels as they start their new life in Anglesey,” Johnson said while unveiling the gift that was actually from all the people of London.

“I am delighted to have this amazing opportunity, on behalf of London, to wish Prince William and Kate Middleton a long, prosperous and joyous life together,” he continued.

Johnson went on and said that it was a fantastic day for the city and then he recognized the international media present for the royal wedding coverage. He also noted that it would be a good dry run for the Olympics.

“It is a good opportunity to test our systems, get the transport system working and show it off as best as we possibly can,” he added.

It remains unknown how Prince William and Middleton reacted to the gift. However, many believe that it was not put to much use.

The royals tend to receive numerous wedding gifts. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also received numerous presents when they exchanged vows back in May. However, they returned tons of gifts worth millions from different businesses.

Based on Kensington Palace’s official rules of receiving freebies, the enterprises are advised to not exploit the gift for commercial purposes.

In related news, Prince William and Middleton may have another baby after Prince Louis. According to royal expert Angela Mollard, the Duchess of Cambridge “really really wants” another addition to their brood.

Middleton reportedly loves Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s relationship and wants Prince Louis to have the same with a younger sibling. Insiders also claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge want to give Princess Charlotte a sister, so a fourth baby is very likely.
