Kate Middleton was reportedly hurt by Queen Elizabeth II when these instances happened.

The Duchess of Cambridge and the Queen share a close bond. However, prior to Middleton’s union with the royal family, the monarch had reservations about the duchess.

According to New Idea, Middleton was hurt by the Queen’s doubt about her. There was reportedly a time when the Queen doubted if she was a suitable partner for the second in line to the throne because the couple had an on-again, off-again relationship.

The publication pointed out that Her Majesty maintained her distance from Middleton even after she rekindled her relationship with Prince William following their split. The Queen was reportedly only guarding herself and the monarchy because she didn’t want to see another royal divorce. The monarch felt that she had seen enough divorces from her sister Princess Margaret to her three children Prince Charles, Princess Anne and Prince Andrew.

It was not the only time Middleton was hurt by the Queen. According to royal biographer Katie Nicholl in her book “The Making of a Royal Romance,” Queen Elizabeth II was concerned of Middleton’s lifestyle.

The Queen reportedly found Middleton’s “frivolous displays of wealth unpalatable.” This happened when Middleton had no full-time job but was always partying.

Marie Claire’s Kayleigh Roberts wrote that the duchess was “super hurt” by the Queen’s comments about her lifestyle. However, she was advised to “hold her tongue” because it would be a bad idea for her to talk back to her future grandmother-in-law.

Interestingly, Queen Elizabeth II and Middleton worked together to build the Duchess of Cambridge’s reputation. The Queen advised Prince William’s then-girlfriend to be involved with Starlight, a charity that works with terminally ill children. It seemed to have done the trick because their relationship has since improved.

In related news, Meghan Markle reportedly broke the Queen’s heart by snubbing her invitation to join her in Balmoral last summer. The Duchess of Sussex said that Archie was still too young to travel. Markle also allegedly insulted Middleton by saying that she would never turn into a “dowdy duchess” like the Duchess of Cambridge.
