  • Kate Middleton sported a more radiant look in her recent Zoom calls
  • The duchess rocked a lighter "bronde" hairstyle to look more youthful
  • Middleton also ditched her dark eye makeup for lighter shades

Kate Middleton is looking more modern and fresh after making subtle changes in her appearance.

The Duchess of Cambridge, 38, has debuted a more youthful appearance in her recent Zoom calls from Kensington Palace. Celebrity makeup artist and beauty expert Olivia Todd spoke with FEMAIL and discussed Middleton's "radiant" look that she attributed to the royal's choice of makeup.

Middleton ditched her dark eye makeup for softer shadows and brow pencils. Prince William's wife also changed the shade of her blush. In addition, she now rocks a lighter "bronde" hairstyle giving her a more youthful look in the process.

"It's clear to see that Kate has certainly revamped her overall look when you make a comparison between her recent and past appearances," Todd said.

"This could be the result of being makeup-free and indulging in skincare and treatments during the lockdown period."

While the duchess undeniably looks more youthful, the expert believes that she used certain products to help her achieve the new look because it's not easy to do.

"However, my knowledge tells me that her ultra-dewy, expensive looking 'lit-from-within' sheen is something that is very hard to achieve without a helping hand from makeup and beauty products," Todd added.

The makeup expert shared some tips to achieve Middleton's glow. Todd said Middleton likely applied a primer with light-infused particles before applying a base and for this, she recommended Kevyn Aucoin Glass Glow Face Primer. It contains lightweight radiance-boosting ingredients. One can apply it solo or add moisturizer to it. For her, she prefers the latter.

She also pointed out the Middleton's shining glow on top of her cheeks, forehead, chin and nose. Many makeup artists tend to matte it down or apply powder over these areas, but she leaves them as they are for a more natural look.

Todd also pointed out how Middleton applied a subtle peach cream blush compared to the"stronger" shades she used to wear that looked outdated. The duchess contoured with a blended matte bronzer, used a softer shade of brow pencil, warm brown tones of eye shadow and nude pink tone hydrating and plumping lipsticks like Chantecaille Lip Chic Lipstick for a more natural-looking and youthful appearance.

Although Middleton looks fresher, some claimed she copied her sister-in-law Meghan Markle in her recent video calls. Many noticed the way she arranged the furniture in the background during her Zoom calls because it reminded the royal fans of the Sussexes.

"It felt very produced," said Roberta Fiorito of the "Royally Obsessed" podcast.

"It felt like it was part of a movie or a documentary or something," co-host Rachel Bowie added.
