  • Kate Middleton was seen driving a car near Windsor Castle Wednesday morning
  • It was the Princess of Wales' first public sighting since the release of Prince Harry's memoir "Spare"
  • Prince Harry made several bombshell claims about Middleton and her husband William in his book

Kate Middleton stepped out solo a day after the release of Prince Harry's bombshell book "Spare."

The Princess of Wales, who celebrated her 41st birthday Monday, was spotted driving a car near Windsor Castle in England Wednesday morning, People reported.

In a photo obtained by the outlet, the future queen consort appeared to be wearing a tan coat and a brown scarf during the outing.

It was Middleton's first public sighting since Prince Harry's memoir "Spare" dropped Tuesday and he began his media tour to promote his book.

Middleton was at the center of many of her brother-in-law's revelations in the memoir, which included an account of an awkward encounter between the Princess of Wales and Meghan Markle involving lip gloss and the two women's alleged drama over bridesmaid dresses that left Markle "sobbing."

In his book, Prince Harry claimed that moments before the 2018 Royal Foundation Forum, the Sussexes and the Waleses' first joint engagement, Markle asked to borrow Middleton's lip gloss because she forgot hers. Middleton was allegedly unhappy about it.

"Kate, taken aback, went into her handbag and reluctantly pulled out a small tube," Prince Harry wrote, Page Six reported. "Meg squeezed some onto her finger and applied it to her lips. Kate grimaced."

Elsewhere in his memoir, Prince Harry detailed his wife and sister-in-law's alleged feud over bridesmaid dresses days before his wedding to Markle in 2018.

He claimed that Middleton texted Markle to complain that her daughter Princess Charlotte's dress was "too big, too long, too baggy." But when Markle directed her to a tailor waiting at Kensington Palace, Middleton allegedly demanded that all the dresses of the six young bridesmaids be remade despite being just four days away from the nuptials.

Harry wrote that the conversation "went back and forth" until Middleton finally agreed to go to the tailor.

Prince Harry claimed that he later found Markle "sobbing on the floor" inside their home.

He also alleged that the two women had a heated exchange in 2018 after the Duchess of Sussex referenced Middleton's "baby brain because of her hormones."

Middleton, who gave birth to her third child Prince Louis one month before the Sussexes' wedding, chided Markle that discussing pregnancy hormones was too personal, Harry claimed.

The Duke of Sussex went on to allege that Middleton's husband Prince William pointed his finger at Markle, saying that she made a "rude" comment. The former "Suits" star, in turn, was hurt by the reprimand, according to People.

But not all of his stories about his sister-in-law were negative. Prince Harry recalled having a good impression of Middleton when his older brother introduced them to each other, years before he met Markle.

"She was carefree, sweet, kind. She'd done a gap year in Florence, knew about photography, art. And clothes. She loved clothes. Her name was Kate," Prince Harry wrote in his book, Us Weekly reported.

"I liked seeing Kate laugh. Better yet, I liked making her laugh. And I was quite good at it. My transparently silly side connected with her heavily disguised silly side," he added. "Whenever I worried that Kate was going to be the one to take Willy from me, I consoled myself with thoughts of all our future laughing fits together, and I told myself how great everything would be when I had a serious girlfriend who could laugh along with us."
