Kate Middleton paid subtle tribute to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana at the G7 Summit.

The Duchess of Cambridge joined her husband Prince William, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Friday in Cornwall, England, where the G7 Summit is being held. During a reception, the British royal family met President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden, who are on their first international trip since they moved into the White House.

For the G7 Summit reception, Middleton donned a white Alexander McQueen coat dress, which she paired with nude pumps and a matching nude clutch. She accessorized with a three-strand pearl and diamond bracelet that once belonged to Princess Diana, Us Weekly reported.

The late Princess of Wales was photographed wearing the same accessory on multiple occasions, including a 1989 visit to Hong Kong, the outlet noted.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cambridge has been seen wearing the bracelet twice prior to the Friday event. She also sported the jewelry during a 2017 trip to Berlin and her and Prince William's royal tour of Sweden in 2018.

In a "letter of wishes," Princess Diana, who died in 1997, left her jewelry to her son’s future spouses, The Telegraph reported.

"I would like you to divide my personal chattels at your discretion between my sons and godchildren, the division being three quarters to my sons and one quarter to my godchildren," Princess Diana wrote. "I would like you to allocate all my jewelry to the share to be held by my sons, so that their wives may, in due course, have it or use it. I leave the exact division of the jewelry to your discretion."

Middleton received the late princess' sapphire engagement ring and the matching earrings. Meanwhile, Prince Harry’s wife Meghan Markle got a classic ring of Princess Diana's that features an aquamarine stone.

Ahead of the Queen's G7 reception Friday, Middleton and the FLOTUS met for the first time as they visited an elementary school in Cornwall for a surprise joint engagement. At the school, they held a roundtable discussion on early childhood education with experts from both the U.S. and the U.K.

"I'm committed to this for the long term," Middleton said while speaking about her early years work. "I hope that our two countries can keep sharing data knowledge and best practice for years to come."

During the press conference, Middleton was also asked about Prince Harry and Markle's daughter, Lilibet, whom they welcomed on June 4. According to the duchess, they haven't met Lili yet, but she is hoping that it will soon happen.

"I wish her all the very best. I can't wait to meet her," Middleton said when asked about baby Lili. "We haven't met her yet. I hope that will be soon."
